So what do you do when the customer is part of an event or when he won’t pay immediately?
You put the bill on a tab.
A tab is a running account which can contain multiple separate purchases and eventually will be billed at once.
Creating a tab is not that different from a regular sale, the only thing you have to do differently is press the “on tab” button instead of the “pay” button.
This will open a pop-up screen asking you to who or where you want to attach it.
By default, the pop up will have selected the existing tab and show an overview of the latest, most commonly used tabs for your convenience.
If you want to create a new tab, these are your options:
- attach the bill to a person.
- attach the bill to a reservation.
- attach the bill to a location.
- create a custom tag to attach the bill to.
If everything went right you should see that the open tab indicator on top of your screen has added 1 more tab to the counter.
Now you know how to open a tab. Next, we will close the tab and accept the payment.
